Can I get a referral?
We'd be happy to discuss a need for a referral with you. Please navigate to the Galileo app and choose "Request a referral". If you have a specific provider you'd like to see, or are scheduled for an upcoming appointment, please include this in your request. Our providers will respond to you as soon as possible to discuss.
What if I need to see someone in person?
Galileo provides referrals for specialist visits or labs. If you have insurance, we’ll stay in-network with your insurance whenever possible.

By using Galileo to request a referral, you don’t need to schedule, wait for, and go to a doctor’s office to ask them to send you to a different doctor—instead, you can do this through your phone, saving you time and money.
How will the provider team communicate with me?
Once you submit a case in the Galileo app, our clinical team will respond to you by chat as soon as possible.

Their response will appear within the case you've opened, and if your notifications are enabled, you'll receive a push notification when a new message arrives.

One exception to this is if your state legally requires a video visit to establish with a virtual care provider. In this case, our providers will send a link where you can schedule this brief initial visit at a time that works with your schedule.Otherwise, all clinical care will be administered via chat.
I have a medical emergency, can you help?
In the event of a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We are happy to assist in your follow up care.
What medications can I have filled?
Galileo physicians can prescribe a wide range of medications for common issues and complex and chronic conditions.

However, we do not issue prescriptions for drugs that have been designated as controlled substances by the DEA.

Otherwise, our Galileo physicians are available 24/7 to ensure that your medical needs are met.
Can Galileo order my labs?
Yes, our clinical team is able to order lab work for you. In order to begin your consultation, download the Galileo app, register, and select “Request a lab test” from the Home tab.
Will my medication be covered by my insurance?
This depends on your insurance plan and the specific medication. Our support team is here to guide you towards information about your insurance coverage and prescription costs. You can reach us at support@galileohealth.com with any questions.
Does Galileo accept Medicaid?
While Galileo is not a provider for traditional fee-for-service Medicaid, it is an in-network provider for select Medicaid managed care plans in New York and North Carolina.

If you sign up for our membership, please note it is not insurance. Your membership fee pays for services you receive within the Galileo app, includes immediate access to our team of expert doctors, medical consultations and advice, consolidation of your medical records, health reminders and more.

If your treatment plan includes a prescription, lab or a referral - your Medicaid program or plan can typically be applied for coverage of expenses outside of our services. We will do our best to alert you of cases where prescription medications, labs, or visits to referred specialists may not be covered by your Medicaid program or plan.
